Marino, I believe it does benefit the N/A Applications. Nick(240_fun) has been using one for a while. |

the z32 filter is larger in diameter.. but honestly... a clean filter will do. most people notice gains because the stock filter is full of shit.. so any clean filter would appear to work. I did run a Z32 filter just because though and its not doubt that more fuel can fill it. |

Can anyone get ahold of dyno sheets for this stuff. Like a stock 240 vs a 240 with exhaust and intake and like. An e-fan and maybe advanced timing? |

This is iffy. Power flows negative to positive. So increased ground can provide a more direct path.... but it can cause ground loops which cause issues as well. There most sensors have 3 wires or so. These are +12V or +5, Negative, and signal. Most source the 12V or +5 from the ECU and return to the ECU's isolated ground. An ideal situation would be to clean the alts output using an LC circuit, then with high power component give them their power directly off the battery with equal lengths of wire. But this would be a PITA. I dunno I think I would go thumbs down with this. |

I totally agree with what you are saying. My response was an attempt to counter the ever present claims of 10-15 hp increases with grounding kits. The point was that it should be viewed as a restoration of power rather than an increase in power. I realize now that I stated that this essential component to the Budget N/A Build which is not true entirely true. Possibly replacing ground wires and connection points where possible is the most legitimate option. Thanks for reading- I hoped you had a view on this. |

i heard using a s14 intake mani(on a s13) helps with slight numbers also(due to no "butterflies").And when you guys talk about advancing timing.....is that turning the dizzy to the left otr right??? and.....how much do you suggest to turn it??/ thanx

To sum everything up thus far, for an all out na build with weight reduction you'd need to rebuild the head, meaning cams, cam gears, head work, lightweight oversized valvetrain, port matched manifolds, a header, exhaust, get rid of weight in the rotating assembly (lightweight pulley, flywheel and aluminum driveshaft and wheels), upgrading the ignition system, crank scraper, intake manifold spacer, a good intake set up or itbs with appropriate velocity stacks, a good tune for both fuel and ignition, make sure that ALL of your maintenance is good (knock sensor, maf, o2, tps, wires, spark plugs), delete anything not absolutely necessary and go to a single belt conversion, high compression pistons, and for those who want to go all the way out there, full counterweight crankshaft and destroking and dry sump. i might be forgetting some stuff but this knocks a good bit of it out. |

This is one of my buddies n/a ka dyno charts previously had -4hp -10tq by a bad knock sensor basically. Took it out had a hairline crack, was pulling timing at wot. Off memory 3" exhaust, header, test pipe 2.5, dual 248 cams, CAI,Fidanza flywheel,F1 clutch, 1piece alum driveshaft, ngk iridium, timing bumped a few degrees. 147hp/146tq this is on a dynapack. Future build entails ITBs, AEM standalone
