well today i decided to start my car after about 2 weeks of having in it sit in the garage since it was giving me a problem starting, so i started it and i got this ticking, knockign noise coming from the righ tside of the motor.. and im just like WTF. so i dont know if i have arod knock of wtf is going on, i just might have to leave 240s alone and get another car any advise ?? |

Did you start it a second time? Maybe the valve seats need to reseal. Two weeks is not that long though. And it never did this before? My car did the same thing and I said WTF then shut it off. I poked around (like I am really going to see anything) and then restarted. No more clicking after that. |

i started it 2 time and it was still making tha gay fucking noise, im pissed. if its a rod knock the car is gone be sold |

Maybe your top timing chain guide thingy directly under your valve cover snapped.. |

Look for common noises/issues with 240s. There are quite a few. It could be timing chain rattle, valve/lifter tap, timing chain guides. Could be rod knock. Were there any issues that could lead up to a rod knock or any internal issues?

about the rod knock? i dont think so like i said i have not driven the car in about 2 weeks, and i dont drive it hard |

How many miles? Did you check fluid levels? Make sure your oil is not low. Check for leaks. |

it ran for about 5-10mins max each of the 2 times is started it. and yea it has 18k miles i had the motor rebuilt and do some performance stuff to it |
