So Ive been really busy recently working on my SR and getting it ready to swap this weekend. But im a fucking dumbass. I was putting in the front main seal, and I noticed that one side went in further than the other, so I just hit the other side alittle bit to compensate, but I hadnt noticed how far back the seal went.

So, everywhere ive seen, the seal is supposed to be flush with the face. I held a crush washer next to it for size reference, its about 2mm further in then it supposed to be. My question is if this is ok or not, or should i get another seal and restart?

Yea mine sit pretty much flush on my SR.
I would get a new one and just redo it. They are pretty cheap and they are a pain to do once in the car. I have change one in my engine bay fml what a day

EDIT: I'm sure you know it but you can use the front main seal out of the SER

I'm Poor
the one on my KA sunk in about that much... if you tap it and hear/feel a solid sound/feeling then it should be fine... then again i dont doubt it could be different on an SR

If you have a s13 sr you can use a 91-93 SER. Pretty much make sure it say SR20de on the computer

i would put your crank pulley on and see how it sits. doesnt look like its far enough back to hurt anything iirc mine sits like that too. as long as it seals it should be fine
