so i was leaving the gas station 2 days ago, i was backing up when for no reason my clutch decided to engage 100%, my foot never moved on the pedal. got home and the throw out bearing is whining when the clutch is pressed. very faint sound when the pedal is released but honestly its nothing out of the ordinary (TOB rides the pressure plate a very little bit when the clutch is released, always has). i adjusted the clutch pedal and bled the system thinking that i had air in it, which i think i did because the clutch fork moves a lot further now than it did. but the TOB is still whining (im guessing it could just be a bad bearing all together). but what im really wondering is, is there supposed to be a small amount of play in the clutch fork? because mine moves up and down a little bit and i cant remember if it has always been that way. im not trying to destroy this clutch because i have to send it back to SPEC in 2 weeks and i cant just not drive my car because i have a million and a half things to do next week, so im trying to figure out what i should do. |

Im pretty sure you're shift fork should be pretty tense if not solid.. i remember having to change my slave cylinder way back when and had a really hard time with the shift fork, it was solid. That was also with a brand new clutch and TOB.. So you probably should take it easy until you send it back in.. -Best of Luck |

i was thinking the same thing but there is no uneven movement of the clutch fork when the pedal is pressed, i have to move the fork by hand. and i looked inside the transmission and the fork is on the pivot ball and the clip is still in it, so im not really sure what the problem is. |

im pretty sure that the TOB is bad, but i will be asking SPEC to send me a new one when they mail me my clutch back so i can eliminate that as a problem. i just need to be sure that my car is going to be driveable for at least a week. |

i highly doubt if you just daily drive like normal something can happen to your clutch/TOB.. I once drove an almost completely burned out clutch for almost a week waiting for my new clutch to come in.. goddamn ebay exedy clutches.. |

yea i dont think so either, im just more worried about the TOB causing damage to the pressure plate fingers than anything else. also if there is a problem with my clutch fork and it fucks up while im out doing something, especially seeing as how i have to go 2 hours outta town on wednesday. |
