alright heres the deal, my clutch fucked up the other day as i was leaving the gas station, ever since then my throwout bearing has been making the best orchestra of sounds. i have tried bleeding the clutch, i check the master cylinder for leaks, no problems there. but i still cant figure it out, i need some input on this because now my clutch is starting to burn and i cannot afford to lose my clutch. heres the run down of symptoms soft clutch pedal TOB makes awesome sounds difficult downshifting, upshifting is still smooth heavy vibrations coming from the clutch assembly heres what i have done so far bled clutch (good) checked master for leaks (none) adjusted clutch pedal (adjustment is now all the way maxed out, aka most amount of travel possible) heres the weird thing though, if i pump the clutch pedal enough times it gets stiffer and the TOB stops whining for awhile, which would indicate there is still air in the system. but i got straight fluid out of the slave cylinder (i believe the damper is bypassed, dont quote me on that) also i never have any issues with gears grinding, only have a hard time downshifting through the gears. and as far as clutch engagement goes, it hasnt slipped once, but today when i got home i opened the hood and got a VERY VERY VERY tiny bit of smoke, and it smells like clutch, which indicates that the clutch isnt engaging fully (which really doesnt make sense) heres what i ask i need input, not bullshit. i need a car that drives, not a car that i have to worry about, as of right now i cannot afford to put this car down for more than a day to mail my clutch back to SPEC so currently i am just trying to fix the TOB issue and the soft pedal issue. i am VERY broke, and VERY annoyed. i am pulling the transmission tomorrow to swap my SPEC TOB back into the car (i put what i thought was a low mileage KA TOB in) but other than that i need to know if there is anythign else i should be looking for. i need this problem fixed, even if its temporary, by tomorrow. i have to make a 2 hour drive out of town for a job interview and i dont need something to fail on me while i am gone. so please help me out on this. dont tell me my clutch is fucked up (im well aware) or any other form of ignorant bullshit, 1 im not in the mood 2 you will get warned for being an asshole. |

i was thinking something along those lines or a internal leak in the master cylinder itself but im not too sure about either i sat under the car while my friend pumped the clutch and saw no fluid leaking out of the slave cylinder so im really not too sure. im going to rebleed the entire clutch system today after i swap throwout bearings and see if that doesnt fix it, but im seriously wondering if my master cylinder is going bad, it seems probable |
