Ok so today i was at a streetwise event which had some PROAM's there fightin it out for a formula D spot. and i was talkin to the guy that had a LS1 in his s13 coupe. very nice and answered every question that i asked. 1. i asked him about clearance issues. he said that there was almost none. other than the air intake, oil tube, and had to beat in the tranny tunnel a lil. the 6 speed fit in just fine. also he said that id have to get a new crossmember and everything that you needed minus the DS. 2. asked how much WHP he was pushin. he said hes pushin about 320WHP NA. and all he did was yank the ecu wiring harness and engine and tranny out and put the crossmember kit in and bolted everything right in. 3. asked him about other engines hes had. he said that he has ran a KA-T, RB20DET, SR20DET, and RB25DET and he said that he loves the LS1 out of all of them due to the fact that instead of having turbo lag he had the power instantly and whenever he needed it. so i am thinking and started doing some new research on the swap. if anyone has any places to look jus let me know and i thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction. |

Yea silviav8forums would be a great place to start. I will say take it from someone that tryed to go that route, it is not cheap at all to try and go ls1. It will take either time if you want to find the best deals or money if you want it done quick. I spent $5000 and ran out of funds and still needed alot. It'd be much easier if you save up and buy a complete swap with everything because those parts will nickle and dime you to death. That being said also don't cheap out and try to save money with the truck motors either because they won't work without alot of extra money for different accessories and intake. And make sure to get valvesprings and an accusump if you plan on sliding with it. Edited by Sean, Apr 14 2010, 04:33 PM.
