ok well my car still isnt starting. this is the 411.
replaced the solenoid because it was the only thing that seemed to be fucked up.
im getting battery voltage to b+ on the solenoid
the signal wire has continuity with ground with the ignition button is pressed
the relay for the starter clicks
but i have no go on starter action
BUT i can jump power from b+ to the starter and it will spin.....
any ideas, because im fresh out. its almost as if an inhibitor has engaged (like a clutch safety switch) but my car was 5 speed swapped so it will start without the clutch being pressed.

alright heres the run down of everything, the problem has been narrowed down to an electrical issue, now i just need to find out what that issue is.

B+ when jumped to the starter motor causes it to spin (starter motor is good)
B+ when jumped to solenoid causes gear to kick out and motor to spin (solenoid is good)
When push button is pressed starter relay (big ass blue relay on passenger fender) clicks but nothing happens (replaced this relay with a new one to eliminate it as a problem, new relay did the same thing)
Removed push button ignition and replaced it with normal keyed ignition (no difference)
Signal wire that goes to solenoid has continuity with ground when ignition is in start position (leads me to believe i have a short to ground somewhere in that harness)

anybody have any ideas as to what i should do next? im out of ideas here and i need this fucking car to run, now.....

i know this is going to sound dumb, knowing that your motor and trans is all ready grounded. But is there a way you can run an extra ground from the starter to the chassis and see if that might help?

not really, interesting fact though

i have 8.9v at battery (yes i know its low, ive been fucking with myc ar all day, but thats besides the fact)

i can jump direct power to the solenoid and everything works

im getting the same 8.9v at the solenoid signal wire, but when i try to jump that (a section is bare btw) to the solenoid nothing works.

thoughts?
