Hi, So my cousins ka24E is having this loud rattling sound coming from the motor. sometimes the sound is there and sometimes i cant hear it, but this morning the sound got loud! and sounds like its coming from inside the motor it self! The motor runs great! the sound comes at IDLE and grows louder sometimes through the RPM band, the car was dynoed couple days ago and was fine. car drives perfect! what can the problem be?? Yup, the timing chain has a steel guide that directs oil flow, that sometimes breaks and bounces on the chain, but also sometimes with single cams, the chain gets so stretched that it bounces around, but with more teeth to chain contact, it sttill may not jump timing, I suggest doing your timing(or your buddys) chain asap, but be sure to replace the tensioner while in there |

i was researchin and i found out that the Dual cam motors have the rattling noise too and the owners repaired it by removing the the upper guide and lower guide.. but for these ka single cams i would have to replace the entire chain and tensioner?? right |

taking the guards out is the hood way to fix it. replace the parts they told you to replace or wait a few weeks and replace the motor your choice |
