Alright so occasionally, the car makes a horrible squeaking belt noise. This usually happens right after starting up and lasts about a minute, however sometimes it kicks in while driving at completely random times, like turning or downshifting. The belts were just recently replaced, could it be just that They're new or too tight or loose? Also, does running too high an obtane come into play? I use the middle grade, i think its 89. Any help appreciated, this is my pet peeve of car noises.

Try tightening them up and see if any oil is on them. And since it squeals when you turn thats most likely the powersteering so check that belt espesially

Its not only when i turn. Did a lot of driving today and found out it happens only when i first start the car and when i slow down and start moving again after going fast, like highway speeds.

check all your belts. make sure there tight. you want about 1/4" of play in each belt. had this issue on my old hatch after i swapped out the belts and noticed the alt belt was loose alittle causing it to squeal on start up
