Ok, so I just changed the headgasket. I put the key in the on position, but the fuel pump wont prime.. car obviously wont start. Check engine light is on. I jumper the closest terminals at the EGI relay and the fuel pump turns on and stays on, but the car still wont start. I also grounded the black/pink wire at the EGI relay, and that doesnt change anything. Any ideas? Am I forgetting something? |

yes, nick hit the nail on the head, a motor needs 3 things to run, spark, fuel and air. but in order to get the air and fuel to produce any kind of energy it needs to be compressed. pull the spark plugs and do a compression test, then a leak down test. see what your figures are, i think its better to rule out a mechanical failure first so you can focus 100% on electrical issues knowing the motor is ok. |

All grounds are good. I hard-wired the relays to bypass them and still nothing. Timing was double and triple checked. Not sure about the ignition switch. It cranks, check engine light comes on, compression numbers are good. |

check your fuses and all your plugs. you had the head off so maybe you shorted something out or broke a wire |

All fuses are good (inside the car and under the hood), and all wires seem to be intact. |

Update: Changed spark plugs, spark plugs wires, distributor, and all relevant fuses in the car. It's basically the same. It cranks but wont start. I unplugged the fuel injectors and tried to start it and it started like twice with that process, ran for like 2 seconds, I kept the throttle to the floor trying to keep it alive, but it died. Then I tried cranking it with the fuel injectors plugged in and then pulled a plug to see if it was just getting flooded but the spark plug was bone dry. Any ideas? |

WTF IS HE DOING?!?!?!
|
try adjusting the timing a little. i know that was my main issue when i started the car up. also make sure you had the mechanical timing dead on. |
